Group Lessons
North Toronto Skating Club offers CanSkate lessons to children of all ages. These
courses provide an excellent introduction to the sport of figure skating,
and prepare children for a lifetime of enjoyment while skating.
Session length varies from 1/2 hour to 1 hour with a group of children who are
at the same skill level. Class sizes are kept small for maximum attention.

section of our site.
Registration is now open for our upcoming season so don't delay!
Instructions for your First Day in Group Lessons
Prior to the start of the season, your registered skater will receive a name
tag in the mail. The name tag should be attached to the jacket or sweater
worn by the skater. The name tag will help the volunteers, program assistants,
and group coaches become familiar with the skaters.
Each name tag will have a colour on it. When the skater comes for group lessons,
the group coach or program assistant may hold up a coloured cardboard with the coaches name on it.
When the warm-up lesson is over, the skater goes to the colour
that matches the colour on the name tag.
The colour system is not significant of skill or ability, but simply a way
of getting the skaters to their group lessons as easily as possible.
Badge testing is done approximately once a month. Skaters may change groups and therefore,
colours through the year. You will receive an e-mail notification of a change of group
ONLY if you ensure that the office has your e-mail address (on the skater application) - OR you
can check the weekly posting of the group summary sheets on the bulletin board.
